New from Boom: HR Support and Sales Executive Apprenticeships
In our drive to become the country’s leading apprenticeship training provider for office-based professions, we’re delighted to be introducing two new apprenticeship standards for September 2020:
-
HR Support
-
Sales Executive
HR Support
The perfect introduction to the world of HR
This is a level 3 standard that can be used both for new, young talent being introduced into the organisation and for professional development of existing staff who are providing HR Support. The standard provides the perfect introduction to a career in HR, covering all the key requirements for working in the profession such as:
- UK employment policy and legislation
- The HR function and how it fits with other business functions
- HR systems and processes
Apprentices also develop a wide range of relevant skills such as service delivery, problem solving, managing HR information, communication and interpersonal skills and teamwork.
On completing the Apprenticeship, candidates have a wide range of progression options including more advanced general HR or specialising in areas such as learning and development.
We recommend using the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) for the End Point Assessment and candidates can also apply for Associate membership of the CIPD when they complete.
Sales Executive
Selling skills for business growth
The Sales Executive apprenticeship is a level 4 programme which means it’s equivalent to the first year of a degree. It provides the ideal programme for developing selling skills for both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) sales roles. It can be used to train both new entrants to the organisation and to develop the skills of existing staff working in sales.
Apprentices develop knowledge and skills in areas such as:
- Understanding markets, competitors and customers
- Customer engagement and needs analysis
- Sales planning and preparation
- Negotiation and closing
We’ve been working with the Association of Professional Sales (APS) in developing this programme and we recommend using the APS as the End Point Assessment organisation for candidates. On achieving the apprenticeship candidates can also apply for full membership of the APS which offers a range of benefits and credibility to potential clients as the letters MAPS and the APS logo can be used in email signatures.
There are a number of progression options for candidates who achieve this apprenticeship. Qualifications in sales are available right up to master’s degree level. For those in B2B sales roles there is also the level 6 Business-to-Business Sales Professional apprenticeship.
